~What to Expect
During Your Massage~

~The Introduction~

Make a phone call or email to clarify about fees, when you can get a session and to find out what type of massage is best for you. If you want, you can also fill out some of the needed medical and personal information such as name, address (optional), email and phone numbers, if you've had massage before or if you have any medical conditions that may be made worse by massage.

When it comes time for your appointment, arrive about ten minutes prior to your first time for additional paperwork (if needed) and to talk about any issues you may have or questions you'd like to have answered. The therapist will show you the area then leave you alone, so you can undress (for Swedish massage) and settle yourself in for the start of your massage.

~The Massage~

In Swedish massage, you will undressed yourself to your comfort level (underwear or nude) and get under sheets on the massage table. The sheets are for privacy and to create a boundary between you and your therapist. Bolsters will be used to further your comfort and are usually placed under the knees when laying face-up and under the ankles when laying face-down. Lotions, creams or oils will be used on the skin and different techniques will be used to manipulate the flesh and muscle. It's very important to speak up and let your therapist know what you need out of your experience. It's your massage!

The therapist can either start on the back and have you flip over mid way to finish at the front of your body or start with you face up and end on your back. Either can be done per the preference of the client and, if no preferance, face down. The massage goes from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet and back up!

Trigger point therapy should follow most of the protocol for Swedish massage. Undressing, though, generally is not involved in trigger point therapy. Also, laying down for this type of therapy is not always needed. Several positions can be used in order to stretch the troubled muscles.

The fully-clothed massage is done over the cloths with no oils or creams and involves compression and pulling of muscles and fascia, providing the same relief as regular massage.

In chair massage, just show up and take a seat!

~The End~

The therapist will end the session with gentle, body-wide compression then by telling you that it's done and for you to relax for a few moments before moving around. After the rest, you can get up and redress in privacy. Call out (or come outside) to the therapist who will be near by. You have about fifteen minutes to relax and get ready after your hour is up to get yourself up and ready to go!

Payment (which is talked about before hand) is due upon rendering of service.
