I graduated from high school in 1996 from South Johnston High of Four Oaks at 17 and was so glad to be out of school. I immediately went to work in factories in a succession of towns including Benson, Dunn, Four Oaks and Erwin. I'm a good worker but, like so many, I met with one too many lay offs. In 2004, I was laid off from yet another job and it enabled me to go to college for anything my heart desired.

In between being laid off that Christmas and starting my college life, I married my best friend, Aaron Popple. His support, love, respect and confidence in me helped me through school and is still with me today with the same enthusiastic support he has always shown for me and my endevours.

I went in with the intention of being a massage therapist which had been a dream of mine for quite a few years, one that I didn't think would ever really happen. Honestly, college was not something I thought would ever happen either. If it weren't for my amazing mom and wonderful husband and all their support both emotionally and finacially, it never would have occurred. I was worried about what kind of future I could have so I settled for something safer... Medical Assisting. I went for summer semester before I actually went into any program and, at the last moment, I decided to go on faith and enter the massage therapy program. I met wonderful people in my classmates and some of my teachers and the over all experience was wonderful. I graduated from college with a Diploma in Massage Therapy in 2006 from Johnston Community College of Smithfield.

It took me a few months of studying before I went for my license but I tested and received that wonderful paper on November 28th, 2006 and finally got ALL the paper work squared away and perfect by early 2007. I currently work about 45 hours a week at a local factory but still find time to keep my hands ready for massage. I work at Modern Image Salon of Dunn as well with occasional massages at Renu of Dunn, Barrington House of Dunn and Dupree House of Smithfield.
